My mobile device collection, episode 1: introduction / iPod mini 2Gen
我做移动设备收藏也有一段时间了，一直都是自娱自乐，突然有整理一下在博客里留个纪念的想法，于是乎就有了这个系列。我将尝试在接下来的一段时间内每天展示一部我收藏的移动设备（包含PDA、电脑以及附件等等），欢迎大家前来吐槽 😀
I have collect vintage mobile devices for a while and it was keeping to myself all the time. I suddenly have this idea that I should share my journey with all mobile device fans and that's the reason behind this series of blogposts. I'll try my best to showcase one of my collection everyday (including PDAs, computers and accessories). You are more than welcome to comment.
我收藏的设备基本上都是二手至N手的，渠道大多为eBay竞拍或同城交易。每一件都已经过我仔细的清理，几乎都有拆开过。一些比较容易再次拆卸的机型我也会尽量拆开拍照，毕竟很多机型在网上资料不多，更难见到里面长的是的什么样子。这些设备经过几年只几十年的风风雨雨仍然坚挺（至今只有一部机型无法开机），让我感叹道科技发展的迅速。希望这个系列能为你带来乐趣，嗯就这样~
Most of my collections have one or more owner and are came from eBay bidding and Gumtree/Craigslist. Each one of them are carefully cleaned up and teared down by myself. If the device I am showing is easy to be teared down I will take pictures of inside as well since a lot of them are disappeared online and even harder to find a picture of motherboard. Those devices are exists for years/decades and still working (except one, just one) and they are really the ideal way to show how fast technology comes. I share my hobby with you here and I hope you enjoy. That's it 😛

iPod mini 2nd generation is pretty much the same as first generation except longer battery life, brighter colors and a new model with 6GB storage. 30-pin connector on the bottom supports charge by 12V Firewire.
My iPod mini is in pretty good shape except some wear around the corners. Due to common issue to iPod minis, MicroDrive is corrupted and has been replaced with a Kingston 4GB compactflash card, Rockbox is also installed. iPod mini probably has the best monochrome screen with backlight (in white) and I like it very much.

Current status: In fully working order. I use it listen to IELTS listening test and play midi files (Rockbox has a fantastic midi player plugin).
